Premium$30/mo ($24/mo billed yearly)25,000 tokens + unlimited relaxed images$1.20
Ultimate$60/mo ($48/mo billed yearly)60,000 tokens + unlimited relaxed images and video$1.00

Prices checked on against Leonardo.Ai's official plans page. Solo plans, prices excluding tax. Leonardo's live pricing page blocks automated access, so the figures were read from the official page as archived on October 1, 2026, and the token rules were cross-checked in Leonardo's own help center. Team plans (Starter and Growth) start at three seats and are not covered here.

Unlike plans that charge a flat rate per credit, Leonardo gets cheaper per token as you move up: on monthly billing, $1.41 per 1,000 tokens on Essential, $1.20 on Premium and $1.00 on Ultimate. Paying yearly takes 17 to 20% off, which brings Ultimate down to $0.80. The bigger gap between tiers is not in that column, though: Premium and Ultimate keep generating on selected models once the tokens are gone.

How the tokens actually work

  • Free tokens do not accumulate: the 150 daily tokens expire at the next reset if you do not use them.
  • On a paid plan, unused monthly tokens go into a Rollover Bank capped at three months of allowance: 25,500 on Essential, 75,000 on Premium and 180,000 on Ultimate. Cancel the plan and the banked tokens are lost.
  • Top-up packs can be bought in any quantity and never expire, but they only work while you hold an active subscription, and they are spent after your monthly and rollover tokens.
  • Premium and Ultimate include unlimited relaxed image generation on selected models (Lucid Origin, Lucid Realism, Phoenix 1.0 and 0.9, FLUX Dev, FLUX Schnell). Ultimate adds relaxed video on selected models. Relaxed jobs run at lower priority, so they can be slower at busy times.
  • Models that Leonardo runs through third-party APIs, such as GPT-Image-2, Nano Banana 2 or Veo 3.1, always cost tokens, whatever your plan. Relaxed mode does not cover them.

Which plan fits which kind of user

You are testing Leonardo or generate a few images a week

The free plan's 150 daily tokens are enough to learn the tool. Two catches: your generations are public, and Leonardo keeps the right to use and distribute what you create on the free tier.

You want private work and the right to own it

Essential is the cheapest way to get private generations and full ownership of your images, plus 10 custom model trainings a month. Paid yearly it is $10 a month, and unused tokens carry over instead of vanishing.

You generate images every day on Leonardo's own models

Premium is the plan where the token count stops being a ceiling. Once the 25,000 tokens run out, Lucid, Phoenix and FLUX Dev or Schnell images keep coming in the relaxed queue, just slower.

You make video, or rely on GPT-Image-2, Nano Banana or Veo

Ultimate is the only plan with relaxed video, limited to selected models. If most of your work runs on third-party models, relaxed mode does not help: you are simply buying tokens, and Ultimate's $1.00 per 1,000 is the lowest monthly rate.

How Leonardo.Ai compares on price

Every vendor meters usage in its own unit, so a credit here is not a token or a compute unit there. The fair comparison is the entry paid plan and what it includes.

Leonardo.Ai pricing FAQ

Is Leonardo.Ai free?
Yes. The free plan gives you 150 fast tokens a day, reset every day, with no subscription. Unused free tokens do not carry over. Free generations are public, and Leonardo holds rights to use them, although you still get a royalty-free licence that allows commercial use.
How much does Leonardo.Ai cost per month?
Essential costs $12 a month for 8,500 tokens, Premium $30 for 25,000 and Ultimate $60 for 60,000, before tax. Billed yearly, the same plans work out at $10, $24 and $48 a month. Team plans start at three seats.
Do unused Leonardo tokens roll over?
On paid plans, yes. Leftover monthly tokens move into a Rollover Bank that holds up to three months of allowance: 25,500 tokens on Essential, 75,000 on Premium and 180,000 on Ultimate. Free tokens never roll over, and the bank is cancelled if you cancel your plan.
What happens when I run out of Leonardo tokens?
Free users wait for the daily reset. Paid users can buy top-up packs, which never expire but need an active subscription. On Premium and Ultimate you can also keep generating with selected models in the relaxed queue at no token cost, but third-party models like GPT-Image-2 always need tokens.
Who owns images made on Leonardo's free plan?
Paid subscribers keep full ownership and intellectual property rights over what they generate. On the free tier, Leonardo holds rights to use, modify and distribute your images, and you receive a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence that still lets you use them commercially.
Is it cheaper to pay for Leonardo yearly?
Yes, by 17% on Essential and 20% on Premium and Ultimate: $10, $24 and $48 a month instead of $12, $30 and $60. That brings Ultimate to about $0.80 per 1,000 tokens. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of the billing cycle.
